The Technician, Reagent Formulations associate for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the manufacturing of specific chemistries used in the medical diagnostics field. This role is critical to the healthcare industry and is critical to allow doctors and lab technicians to quickly and accurately diagnose patients all over the world.

The position is part of the Production Operations Department located in Carlsbad, CA and will be working on-site. The Vision of Beckman Coulters production operation department is to allow doctors and lab technicians to diagnose patients quickly and accurately all over the world.

You will be part of the Production Operations team and report to the Supervisor of Production Operations. responsible for following complex instructions, step by step procedures with a critical eye for detail and accuracy. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete reagent formulations including mixing, adjusting pH, testing on various equipment including but not limited to spectrophotometers and various Beckman instruments.

  • Perform Antisera purifications using various techniques.

  • Analyze data & trends and making decisions within the process based on that.

  • Support production teams across the site in addition to their primary team. This may include requests to work hours outside of the normal shift as necessary to support customer production demand.

  • Regular use of computers for routine tasks, data generation and analysis, time reporting, online training, email, etc.)

  • Calibration and regular maintenance of instrumentation

  • Cleaning and assembly of glassware and components used in processing.

    The essential requirements of the job include: :

  • Associates (AA) degree. Focus on chemical and/or biological sciences preferred.

  • Science knowledge of basic lab techniques such as pH adjusting and buffer prep preferred.

  • 1+ Years related experience in a GMP/GLP lab.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, timekeeping, etc.)

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
