Danaher Corporation Textile Senior Colorist - Carlstadt, NJ in Carlstadt, New Jersey

Expertise in Reactive Dyeing process to develop dye recipes for the production of dyed cotton fabric. Coordinate daily activities in the color lab. Apply innovations in dyeing chemistry that will increase the quality of the product and build efficiencies in the manufacturing process Analyze color data, make necessary adjustments for the color to pass. Reformulating if vital.

  • Analyze and trouble-shoot product yield and quality issues. Collaborate with multiple fields to resolve problems.

  • Keep abreast of new technology within the dyeing industry.

  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors leading to root cause.

  • Review lab and production dyeing results and make adjustments as needed.

  • Make recommendations for equipment and tools. Develop and maintain requirements of new and existing product lines.

  • Evaluate and Track Efficiency of the lab dips.

  • Build, review and approve Manufacturing Operations Sheets (MOS) to ensure Quality and manufacturability of products are maintained.

  • Assist and give mentorship to Associate Colorist and lab technicians in the lab dyeing formulation, shade matching and color development

  • Ensure the department maintains compliance in all operations, methods, tooling, processes, work instructions, test equipment and training.

  • Ability to optimally perform the above mentioned crucial job functions

General Requirements:

  • Must have 10+ years in textiles dyeing, finishing and color development experience.

  • Proven knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, test processes and cost reduction techniques. Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

  • Proven project management skills and analytical thinking.

  • Ability to use Excel, Power Point & Word Applications to problem solve & communicate results

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Chemistry or related textile dyeing and color development experience a plus but not required
