The Sr Director HR, Global Operations Functions and leads HR Business Partner (HRBP) support for IDT’s operations organization inclusive of manufacturing, supply chain, facilities, and others. This role will act as the principal HR leader for supported client groups and will link human resources strategies to business objectives, and has responsibility for positive associate relations in a client group that comprises the majority of IDT’s global headcount across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. This position will counsel and advise management on a variety of topics related to talent including associate development, performance management, diversity and inclusion and organizational design, and ensure compliance with relevant labor laws. This position is responsible for leading organizational transformation projects across multiple regions within IDT. This position reports to the Vice President, Human Resources and will be a member of IDT’s HR Leadership team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead HR Business Partner support for several global functions reporting into the Senior Vice President, Operations

  • Build, lead, and develop a team of HR Business Partners in North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe aligned to supporting the operations organization and responsible for site HR business partner activities in manufacturing locations

  • Partner with HR Operations and Centers of Excellence to ensure robust standard work exists to support positive associate relations, leadership and culture development, and to cultivate an environment of compliance within IDT

  • Consult with leaders to set HR and pace HR priorities within assigned global functions in support of enabling the organization’s strategy and functional goals; support IDT’s most strategic growth aspirations (“policy deployment” initiatives), as appropriate

  • Implement and execute HR programs and processes within assigned client groups, and lead talent and organizational design projects of moderate complexity across multiple geographies; support associate engagement, retention, and development by implementing programmatic approaches and coaching people leaders on 1-on-1 basis, as appropriate

  • Anticipate challenges and recommend innovative solutions across a spectrum of human capital topics

  • Implement a structured process and standard work in partnership with direct reports, the HR leadership team, and centers of excellence to acquire top-talent for IDT’s operations organization in different manufacturing sites across the world, and partner to ensure the onboarding and immersion process is welcoming and right-sized to meet the needs of the incoming associates

  • Drive successful execution of the performance management process within assigned client groups including: supporting performance calibration sessions; coaching leaders on tough conversations; creating performance improvement plans and development plans

  • Demonstrate excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to define, scope, create action plans and manage timeline milestones through completion

  • Drive and manage workforce planning and headcount management to align strategies with business priorities

  • Collaborate with clients on internal movement decisions; transfers, promotions, job enhancements and ensure decisions are aligned with talent and skill gaps, development plans and career pathing while ensuring movement aligns with company leveling guides and policy

  • Champion the Danaher Business System by contributing to IDT’s HR kaizen (continuous improvement) funnel and leading from the front by leveraging Danaher Business System tools and facilitating kaizens or obtaining certified trainer or certified practitioner status in DBS tools, where appropriate

Major objectives and critical success factors include:

  • Forging relationships with key stakeholders and partnering across other HR disciplines, the business partner team, and with the business to build and implement robust processes and standard work to achieve measurable results in the areas of: people leadership development, positive associate relations and engagement, a culture of compliance, and fostering diversity and inclusion.

  • Problem solving for retention, and maintaining vigilance to internal and external factors that may contribute to disruption in IDT’s ability to deliver for customers

  • Installing the standard work necessary and supporting the development of talented and capable HR business partner team with the goal of sustainably achieving a high-level of performance, trust, and partnership with operations leadership

  • Enhancing the leadership succession pipeline

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 7 or more years’ experience as a HR Business Partner, including several years’ experience coaching and influencing L1 leaders and working with a operations organization

  • Sophisticated skills in mediating, negotiating, coaching, and social contracting with senior leaders to appropriately prioritize, develop timelines in view of competing priorities, and scoping projects

  • Demonstrated record of measurable accomplishments such as success leading organizational design initiatives such as restructuring or organizational transformations in a complex cross-functional environment, talent metric, engagement, or turnover improvement

  • Developed business acumen; as a member of the HR leadership team, must be able to understand and articulate IDT’s strategy, to translate that strategy into understanding of a client group / function(s) critical initiatives, and to explain that strategy and work rationale to others

  • People leadership experience with a track record of successfully engaging, developing, and retaining a team

  • Within commuting distance of Coralville IA (Chicago is okay) and willingness to be on-site on a regular basis and travel to other manufacturing sites as required in CA, MI, NC, Belgium, and Singapore

  • Ability to drive on-site to Corville, IA for regular presence on-site and needs to be coralville-adjacent .

It would be a plus if you had previous experience in:

  • Certified practitioner in DBS Fundamentals, or Certified Trainer in DBS Leadership courses

  • Experience supporting an Operating Company Policy Deployment initiative or participating as extended team in Operating Company strategic planning process

  • Experience coaching senior leaders on their development plans, and those of their associates, in an environment where D4G and P4G adoption remains nascent
