Purpose of the Job

The Senior Staff Continuous Improvement Manager/DBSL Leader is responsible for promoting and facilitating the implementation and sustainment of the Danaher Business System within Beckman Coulter.

The incumbent leads and/or participates efforts to specifically address continuous improvement, lean and growth specific action within the development area of the BU WITS. He/she also plans and steers the Kaizen funnel for WITS, supports strategic initiatives like agile SW development concepts and supports the SDR implementation for key system projects.

Boundary Conditions/Authority Levels• Drive ever-improving results by leveraging Danaher Business System (DBS) tools, consulting skills, and change management process.•Assist in achieving the Policy Deployment and Strategic Plan objectives related to Beckman Coulter and specifically the development organization of WITS•Propose, and steer with WITS leadership in development and execution of a DBS roadmap at Beckman Coulter•Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching•Ensure productive kaizen events•Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate tools to eliminate them•Promote and facilitate associate development in various DBS tools, transactional improvements, and kaizen leadership•Driving DBS culture and building DBS excellence within the WITS organization and specifically the design and development area.•Benchmark and incorporate best practices

Education and/or Experience:• Master/Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering required with at least 10 years experience in an Operations or Engineering environment• Experience in use of Lean/DBS tools (e.g. PSP, transactional process improvement)• Be a certified practitioner in Lean/DBS tools• Ability to accurately assess key business metrics• Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS roadmap for an operating business• Superior training skills and adult learning theory• Superior consulting/influencing skills• Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills• Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
