Based remotely in the U.S. or at a Beckman Coulter Diagnostics location and reporting to the Senior Vice President, Systems, Software & Automation, we are seeking a Director of Global Product Security that will be responsible for managing the global product security initiatives across the entire analyzer and informatics product portfolio within Beckman Coulter. You will be focused on working directly with the R&D, regulatory and quality assurance organizations on identifying areas of risk and ensuring these organizations adhere to global privacy and cybersecurity regulations as well as ensure that product privacy and security policies, procedures and best practices are fully integrated within the product development lifecycle and the quality management system and align them to Danaher policy as well as multiple regulatory requirements. i.e. FDA, HIPAA, GDPR. Leading a global team responsible for cybersecurity document reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing, t his role will also have a dotted line into the Danaher Global Product Security office.

In this role, you will have the following opportunities, but are not limited to:

  • Develop privacy and security solutions into a competitive advantage for Beckman, enabling new business opportunities impacting the long-term position of the company

  • Align and maintain Beckman processes and policy with Danaher policy, FDA guidance and other regulatory requirements

  • Chair and lead the Beckman Coulter Global Product Security Council

  • Active participation in the Danaher Global Product Security Council and Diagnostics Platform Global Product Security Council

  • Work with product teams on approval of product plans, roadmaps and risk assessments to ensure on time delivery of commercial releases

  • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on Beckman Coulter products

  • Provide expertise on technical security and privacy pre-sales queries and working with our customers’ information security personnel to ensure compliance with their corporate information security and privacy risk assessment process

  • Assist the commercial organizations with security questionnaires, security exhibits and contracts that are required for tenders, purchase orders, and contract renewals.

  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operational performance, streamline work processes and work collaboratively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service

  • Establish and maintain a strong relationship with the DoD and help facilitate the required paperwork and certification across the Beckman portfolio.

  • Support cybersecurity updates and patching for Beckman product portfolio and release management

  • Participate and maintain membership in industry organizations such as Health-ISAC, Advamed and Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC)

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Minimum of 15 years experience to include excellent knowledge of Information Security standards, and frameworks for product security

  • Knowledge of global privacy regulations

  • Conducting and advising customer issues into solutions, driving business results while ensuring customer satisfaction

  • Experience working with DoD and other government agencies

  • Ability to balance critical thinking with hands-on tactical implementation

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science/cybersecurity preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

  • Industry recognized security certifications such as CISSP or HCISPP required

    It would be a plus if you also possess:

  • Experience leading information security in a medical device manufacturing environment is preferred

  • CSM, CISA, GIAC, CEH, or other technical security certification desired

  • Direct experience with HIPAA, FDA, GDPR and other security and privacy governance is preferred
