The Manufacturing Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for supporting the daily production needs of a Reagent manufacturing work cell. This includes investigation and resolution of purification related issues and new product transfers related to purification.
This position is an integral part of the reagent manufacturing team and will be located in Chaska, MN.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide technical expertise, experimental design, execution, interpretation, and documentation to support investigations.
Participate / Lead multifunctional teams in designing and implementing corrective actions, preventative actions, defect reduction strategies, and defect detection tools as required to resolve issues and improve test methods/manufacturing processes.
Communicate investigation status reports, proposals for further investigation, etc. via oral and written reports.
Assess manufacturing processes and systems, and implement improvements aimed at performance, quality, and cost.
Acquire and demonstrate creative application of sophisticated technical and manufacturing knowledge
Assure compliance with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO regulatory requirements
Identify and implement quality improvements including but not limited to production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiencies
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology with 2+ years of experience OR Master’s degree
Experience in a regulated industry preferred (e.g. FDA, ISO)
Knowledge of purification techniques used in an ISO/GMP environment
Knowledge of chromatography methods (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Automation (Unicorn software, AKTA equipment, Waters Empower software)
