The Scientist - Production Operations for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for producing immunoassay reagents used in diagnostic testing. This position will be located in Chaska, MN.
You will be an integral part of the upstream manufacturing team and report to the Manager, Production Operations. If you thrive in a fast paced, technical role and want to work to build a world-class manufacturing science organization—read on.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Execute the daily production plan to due date conformance and quality standards.
Train to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Follow engineering drawings, work order information, SOPs, and other written and verbal specifications in the manufacturing process while maintaining FDA requirements Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO regulatory requirements
Handle a variety of reagent materials with strict attention to detail while working aseptically
Independently execute work regarding the scheduling of production operations, filling operations, testing of immunoassay materials, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement projects.
Identify, recommend and implement quality improvements including but not limited to production methods, equipment performance, product quality and efficiencies
Learn and participate in the company's lean manufacturing principles
Train new team members on equipment operations and work procedures as needed
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related science with a minimum of 0-2 years’ experience
Must have a proven track record to create and deliver on-time to action plans and work optimally with cross-functional teams.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience in a regulated industry preferred (e.g., FDA, ISO).
Experience with cleanroom manufacturing.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly:
Standing for a prolonged period.
Required to talk and hear
Using good hand dexterity to handle or feel
Reaching with hands and arms above shoulder height and below the waist.
Lifting up to 30 lbs.

Our buildings are modern, with employee--accessible WiFi, dedicated break, quiet, and collaborative spaces, and an on-campus cafeteria. Our location is convenient to central Chaska and Chanhassen shops and restaurants, and we are a 25-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis.
