The Senior Strategy Development and Projects Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for developing our organization's short and long-term Global Operation’s Strategy.

The Senior Strategy Development Manager will use analytical, modelling, and problem-solving skills to build credible strategic roadmaps and action plans that help our leadership team establish and prioritize business objectives that align the organization on opportunities and lead our Global Ops organization toward gaining a sustainable competitive advantage.

In this role, you will also be tasked with using project/program management skills to lead teams in assessing strategic planning projects while also executing some strategic projects of your own.

This is a highly visible role where you will influence the future of Global Operations, becoming intimate with the global systems, processes, and structure whilst working with, consulting, and influencing senior operations leaders in the Global Operations Leadership Team. Next steps would likely be a more senior people leadership role in Global Operations.

This position is an integral part of the Global Operations Strategy and PMO team and will be located in Chaska, MN, reporting to the Sr. Director of Strategy & PMO Global Operations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead/ Be point Person for the Development of the ongoing Global Operations Strategy.

  • Work with external partners and internal stakeholders lead, conduct research and analyses of operations footprints, operational effectiveness, processes, stakeholders, etc. to develop strategic options/visons and action plans.

  • Present findings, projections and recommended actions to leadership and executive management, articulating a clear roadmap that will realize the business’s opportunities.

  • Support project teams in project planning while also planning, implementing, and managing some strategic projects; planning of projects to include the development of financial models and business cases that enable leadership/executives make informed decisions.

  • Support the Ops leadership team in the establishment and review of key strategic priorities and help them translates these into actionable plans.

  • Provide coaching/training to Ops leadership team on strategy development and execution, and develop Standard Work and tools for same.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Science or other relevant subject) with 14 years of experience, Masters in Business Admin with 12 years of experience; MBA strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an operations environment (manufacturing, supply), preferably IVD, Medical Device or Pharma/Biotech experience preferred.

  • Proven analytical skills, modeling, and experience of producing and presenting business cases for strategic development.

  • Strong global business knowledge and influence – understand different cultures and approaches and can lead, follow, work and influence at all levels and in all functions of the organization.

  • Ability to build financial analysis into models and feasibility studies. Intermediate knowledge of P&L and Balance Sheet.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Project management trained/qualified an advantage (e.g., PMP certification or equivalent)

  • Change Management Certification desired (Prosci/ADKAR or Other)
