The Senior Manufacturing Technician for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for managing our hardware engineering laboratory, and testing and verification of design changes that will improve quality and direct material savings of Immunoassay and Urine Analysis instruments used in the Diagnostics market.
This position is part of the Sustaining Engineering group and will be onsite in Chaska MN. Beckman Coulter’s vision is to advance healthcare for every person with diagnostic testing solutions.
You will be a part of the Sustaining Engineering team and report to the Senior Manager responsible for Value Engineering, Product Reliability and End-of-Life component management for legacy hardware products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Have responsibility for our Hardware Lab and Preventive Maintenance of our Instruments and Equipment.
Perform equipment maintenance and be responsible for our calibration program.
Bring new equipment and instruments into our lab and managing equipment availability.
Support multiple design teams through feasibility and verification testing.
Write Technical Report of test results and provide high-level analysis to team.
Work cross functionally with several different Business Units and product lines
The essential requirements of the job include:
Experience with operating medical diagnostics instruments.
Great organizational skills and comfortable working independently to meet project goals.
Associates Degree with 3+ years of experience.
Ability to execute hardware test protocols.
Some manual labor required including handling up to 50lbs.
Familiar with diagnostics and measurement tools.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience working on a laboratory environment.
Testing of new designs and design change verification process related to medical instruments.
Ability to multitask and work independently.
Prefer Associates degrees in technical fields.
Comfortable working with computer-controlled diagnostics equipment.
Use of problem-solving techniques such as 5 whys and fish-bone diagrams.
