The System Engineer/Development Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for development of the next generation of automated immunoassay test instruments and support of the current product line within the menu management team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to our customers
Work directly with scientists, engineers, marketing and software teams to ensure we have the right solutions to meet the needs of a constantly evolving healthcare environment
Collaborate on requirements and design options with partners and teammates to develop next generation immune-analyzer instrumentation and internal tools
Perform and summarize experiments with a moderate level of guidance and direction from team members
Help drive continuous improvement projects
Expand knowledge and understanding of the intersection between software, system and reagent design
Assist with execution and troubleshooting of automated tests, while collecting and documenting objective evidence
The essential requirements of the job include:
Biomedical Engineering or other engineering degree, Biochemistry, Biology or equivalent (Bachelor’s with 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters with 0-2 years of experience).
Significant experience in clinical, research or diagnostic setting with knowledge of immunoassay development, and experience working with virtual machines is a plus.
Candidates must have extensive knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods.
Ability to detail work per ISO9000/FDA regulation; including materials, methods, and conclusions.
Knowledge of laboratory automation, system software, Microsoft applications, and laboratory statistics is essential.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Has aptitude to learn programming or ability to read/write programming code.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Some familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and/or biochemistry
