This position is part of the engineering R&D located in Chaska, MN and will be an onsite position in office three days per week. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Systems Engineering Department and report to the Reliability Engineering Manager responsible for the design, development, and testing of the next generation of Immunoassay Analyzers. These are groundbreaking medical devices that utilize robotics, machine learning and vision systems to deliver critical results for everything from COVID-19 antibodies to tumor markers. In role as a Systems Engineer II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with with fluidics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pressure sensors and vision systems.

  • Coordinate the integration of software and hardware changes to improve product performance

  • Develop feasibility, characterization, reliability and verification test plans and perform testing that covers the expected customer use environment and operational conditions

  • Analyze, summarize, present, and interpret experimental data to formulate conclusions and make recommendations

  • Utilize structured problem-solving approach with focus on software log analysis, lab testing and utilization of supporting team members

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience OR Master’s degree in same field with a minimum of 0+ years of experience

  • Hands-on experience developing and testing new products with high software dependency

  • Up to 10% global travel required

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast paced, changing environment

  • Strong organizational skills as well as attention to detail

    It would be a plus if you also possess:

  • Medical regulated experience or experience in a regulated environment

  • Experience utilizing software log files to investigate failures

  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues

  • Experience working with system requirements and dFMEAs

  • Experience working in a scrum/agile team or similar environment
