Danaher Corporation Area Sales Manager in Chennai, India

Need a person with back ground scientific knowledge with sales

  • Drive LSR Microscopy Systems sales and application in his/her region

  • Team Management: Ability to manage the team of highly skilled and experienced associates

  • Expert in tender processes & Govt. sales

  • Sales Force/ Funnel Management to drive the business

  • Drive business with highest integrity and compliance

  • Able to handle crucial communication/ discussion and decision making

  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline, forecast Management (Weekly/ Monthly) for the Region

  • Knowledge of life science customer organization/institutes, purchasing process & sales methodology in capital equipment sales to publicly funded institutes i.e. Scientific Institutes, Educational Teaching (Research, College, University), Regional laboratories, Forensic, Microbial technology Labs, Manufacturing & Processing Industries, NITs/IITs, Govt. Laboratories, OEM , etc. Key account management experience.

  • Knowledge & rapport of renowned scientists/people within the territory (i.e. Scientists, Professors, purchasing contacts across the territory). Able to liaise effectively with all levels of personnel within institutes: Scientific Institutes, Educational (College, University), Regional laboratories, NITs/IITs, Govt. Laboratories, Bio Pharma R&D etc

  • Ability to draw up own action plan to deliver assigned target within an agreed time period.

  • Ability to ‘Value Sell’, i.e. probe to find real needs/wants and then sell our Leica Research Microscopy Systems products/solutions (Hw & Sw) benefits which meet these needs.

  • Build a sound technical understanding of the products and applications in the microscopy field.

  • Provide pre and post sale application support to the entire designated region.

  • Ability to conduct demos, presentations and technical discussions with prospective or existing users.

  • Apply advanced marketing skills to develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements and purchase behavior. Monitor the evolution of Life Science market within the market segment and competition working closely with BU specialists and sales & service teams.

  • Define the right product & price to sell in each market working closely with sales and marketing managers, trying to address the customer needs and leveraging the maximum profitability and market share for the company. Cooperate to design specific bundled solutions among & within the different BUs and have the capability to choose the correct portfolio, building a clear strategy for the price & product positioning.

  • Identify growth opportunities in the assigned geography, guiding and attracting the support from appropriate marketing services, resources and working closely and synergistically with BUs and local teams

  • Responsible for collecting VoC from the Life Science Research Customer segments, working closely with BUs to ensure feature sets are prioritized and business plans are justified.

  • Provide information & analysis of price trends of the key products within the LSR portfolio and competitive price information

  • Cooperate to build the indirect sales channel having the capability to build a network of dealers & agents in LSR Segment

Team management & Provide leadership, supporting the Divisional Manager & Zonal Sales Manager in setting goals.
