Danaher Corporation HR Generalist in Chicago, Illinois
The Human Resources Generalist will partner with people leaders and associates to provide HR services in a proactive and solution oriented manner aligned with the business strategy for assigned client groups.
Your responsibilities include:
Provide People Leaders support and coaching on Employee Relations issues including performance, discipline, conflict situations, including executing and documenting formal inquiries when appropriate.
Provide excellent customer service on general inquiries from associates regarding Leaves of Absence, tuition reimbursement, PTO/Bereavement/Jury Duty policies, employment verification, etc. Find the balance of directing associates to resources and providing them the answers directly.
Leads Onboarding for all US Associates including Workday readiness, required paperwork completion, coordination and support of hiring managers, and virtual or in-person orientation to the OpCo, Benefits, and general HR policies.
Serves as the US Wellness Champion. Using Danaher provided resources and content maintain and create programming that encourages wellness, fun, and engagement of all associates.
Support People Leaders during regular HR annual process cycles including Performance Reviews, Compensation planning, Succession Planning, and Goal/Objective Setting; proactively communicate, provide training, and coaching as needed.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required in HR, Business Management, or related field AND 3 years of experience in HR
In lieu of 3 years of experience, Master’s Degree in HR and related internships.
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Demonstrates confidence when interacting and coaching People Leaders
Demonstrates a sense of urgency.
Proven ability to successfully tackle complex situations.
Has a continuous improvement mindset and approach to work; is consistently looking to make work and processes better. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma a plus.
