Do you have a desire to be an integral part of a growing and diverse team? We’re looking for Lead Tester to join our team in Woking, you will contribute to the delivery of products by leading the testing within one or more closely aligned feature teams. The lead tester role combines both leadership with active day to day involvement in the work of a feature team. The lead tester will also help support and develop associates both within a particular feature team and across engineering more generally.

What we’ll get you doing:

  • Working both within an Agile team and across teams to implement testing strategy, within the scope of a product, aligned with departmental strategy.

  • Ensure plans are robust, repeatable, and maintainable to defined standard. o Identifying cross-team interdependencies and co-ordinating appropriately with other teams to ensure these are incorporated.

  • Maintain awareness of the changing technology and business requirements, making adjustment to plans as required.

  • Support the team in hands-on execution of testing, both manual and automated.

  • Builds and supports teams, in line with departmental resourcing strategy, within the scope of a product. o Creating and sustaining a positive team environment, displaying high levels of motivation and excellent team spirit.

  • Mentors Test and Engineering team members in testing best practice methods, educating in the benefits of using them to both technical and non-technical staff.

  • Identify and champion team improvements for own and other aligned teams.

  • Proactively participate and contribute to Agile team activities and discussion providing a positive role model to other team members working to tight and changeable timelines.

  • Actively participate in Customer and Internal Audits and ensure all audited work is carried out in accordance with the relevant QMS procedures, updating procedures where appropriate.

  • Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of all IDBS products and related technologies, educating within team, and proactively training on new products, to enable delivery of an outstanding experience to customers.

    Here is what success in this role looks like:

  • ISTQB Foundation in Software Testing (or equivalent), or relevant competence to undertake the qualification

  • Knowledgeable of industry testing best practice and able to present these to both technical and non-technical staff

  • Ability to work as part of a team, supporting others towards a common goal.

  • Strong skills in verbal and written communication with the ability to listen actively with appropriate responses considering the views of others.

  • Proven leadership skills; building and maintaining an engaged and motivated team.

    It’s a bonus if you have:

  • Demonstrable experience of Testing within AWS architecture. Preferably multi-tenancy

  • Experience Testing distributed systems as well as SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Experience scripting in a language such as Bash, Python, Scala, Go or alike

  • Experience with Linux environments
