Are you an experienced, embedded software engineer who wants to contribute to breast cancer diagnostics? If so, please read on!

You will develop embedded software solutions for Mammotome’s commercialized medical devices. Plan the strategic direction of software architecture, software project management for our capital products, validation of existing processes and equipment, and maintain and update the company’s IEC 62304 software process.

LOCATION: Cincinnati, OH is the primary location for this role; however, Mammotome’s hybrid work model enables employees to determine with their managers which days they can work remotely. It’s just one of the many ways Mammotome enables quicker decisions, collaboration, connectivity, career development and work/life integration.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret customer and marketing recommendations to define technical software design requirements

  • Design and develop medical device software to improve existing software on commercialized products. Document software architectures and detailed designs.

  • Collaborate with the electrical engineering team on PCBA designs

  • Perform hands-on debugging of real-time systems

  • Co-develop graphic user interfaces in collaboration with Industrial Design Engineers

  • Perform software unit testing and support system-level design verification

  • Collaborate with suppliers and manage software vendors throughout the design and development process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or another related field

  • 7+ years of experience in embedded software design

  • Experience developing embedded application software in C/C++ (or equivalent) and embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Windows CE, Embedded Linux or FreeRTOS

  • Experience with embedded software development activities includes requirements definition, bootloaders, embedded software, graphical user interfaces (GUI) and test fixtures

  • Comfortable with the ownership of the entire software architecture and code development

  • Experience managing contractors

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time both domestic and international. Typical work-related travel assignments of 2-5 days including overnight, out-of-town stays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing FDA regulated medical devices or similar regulated industry experience

  • Developing software under IEC 62304

  • Experience with Cybersecurity analysis (threat modeling and risk analysis for example
