This position is a critical role in the organization providing leadership across functions to deliver large and complex product design change and development projects on time and within budget. Senior Project Managers have proven past performance of planning, execution, and reporting of projects as assigned. You will have ownership of projects from beginning to end. This role is positioned within R&D supporting product development projects globally across Mammotome.
Responsibilities we will trust you with:
Responsible for the planning and execution of large and complex, product design change and development projects and, communicates project risks and progress succinctly while soliciting support from leadership to deliver results
Able to build project plans with flexibility in approach and methodology; crafts detailed project schedules, risk management and budget/forecasts
Leads project execution against schedule, revising as appropriate, to meet changing project needs and requirements
Influences cross-functional teams while raising resource, capacity, and performance concerns. Participates in performance discussions and is sought after for feedback on talent
Able to navigate the organization and proactively build synergy across functions
Owns results and takes accountability for failures, has done the retrospective, understands and accepts why project didn’t deliver and has incorporated past learnings into new standard work
Manages all external relationships needed for project
Accepts ownership and assumes responsibility; Recognizes others contributions.
Contributes to the development of project management processes and standards with a continuous improvement attitude
Applies Danaher best practices and processes to manage projects
Mentors/Coaches Project Manager(s)
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matters most for this role:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Certification in Project Management preferred (PMP)
Experience with process excellence or a process excellent certification such as Green/Black Belt preferred
Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience in technical projects required; previous engineering experience preferred
Proven experience leading project(s) from inception to completion required;
Experience creating and implementing process improvements for product development and/or commercialized products design change processes required
Strong Project Management expertise with focus on the cross-functional execution of project
Formal leadership experience advantageous
Medical device experience strongly preferred
Travel up to 10% of the time; both domestic and international travel may be required.
Typical work-related travel assignments range 2-5 days, and as such overnight, out-of-town stays are required; dependent on project assignment target markets
