Danaher Corporation Sr Design Engineer - New Product Development in Cincinnati, Ohio

As a Senior Design Engineer in New Product Development Engineering you will use your mechanical design experience to plan and execute medical device design projects that's focused on Innovation. This position is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and offers a flexible work arrangement with a blend of in-office and remote work.

Some of the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Performs design and analysis (such as tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE's, simulated use testing, etc.), and leads design activities of high complexity product elements

  • Provide leadership on a multi-functional project team through all phases of the design control process. This includes planning and executing projects from concept through the launch.

  • Support and/or lead multiple, simultaneous product changes based on defined needs of the business (e.g., product improvement or obsolescence)

  • Work closely with other members of the team and suppliers (e.g., quality, regulatory, manufacturing) to execute project deliverables.

  • Perform component and assembly evaluations and qualifications.

  • Significantly contribute to aspects of project management including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and contingency planning.

  • Provide domain expertise to the organization across at least one field (e.g., plastics, metals, DFM/A).

  • Provide mentorship to less experienced team members.

    Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • Bachelor degree (BS) in mechanical or biomedical engineering (or related field equivalent) with mechanical emphasis.

  • Minimum of 7 years related work experience.

  • Expertise regarding mechanical processes and capabilities that impact design.

  • Knowledge in the application of design controls and development processes.

  • Understanding of risk assessment activities and risk mitigation techniques.

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks preferred.

  • Systems Engineering experience preferred.

  • Engineering design work experience in regulated industry helpful.
