Title: Director, Manufacturing Operations Location: Clare Reporting to: Site Leader BCI

The Director of manufacturing and operations will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the organization’s manufacturing and operations focusing on strategic planning, company-wide initiatives, goal-setting, and alignment through ongoing continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency. The Director will have primary responsibility to establish, communicate, and deploy a strategic plan for the manufacturing function to achieve world class operational Danaher best in class site.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and deploy strategic manufacturing plans that includes manufacturing site capacity, technology, process capability/controls, and talent development that is aligned with operations objectives, quality objectives, product requirements, and business strategies. • Manages a team of approximately 200 team members, including 5 direct reports, to successfully execute operation excellence. • Ensure proactive engagement and representation of Manufacturing during product development cycles to ensure future products meet quality, service, and cost objectives. • Build relationships with the broader manufacturing organization and with Quality, HR, Finance and IT. • Provide solutions to root cause analysis investigations identified by quality, to non-conformances that are the direct result of manufacturing operations. • Ensure all products are manufactured according to specifications and safety and quality standards in most efficient manner. • Establish KPIs to ensure customer and company business needs are consistently achieved and provide timely information to executive management team to drive effective business strategies. • Develop, review and approve budgets throughout manufacturing operations to meet or exceed budget expectations as well as other key financial manufacturing performance goals; Ability to analyze P&L and balance sheet to achieve financial objectives. • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, EEO, HAS and other regulatory agencies. • Drive performance management and talent development to create a high performance culture. • Support the overall facility manufacturing strategy, including capacity planning, make versus buy decisions, the technical development of manufacturing processes and establishment of cost, quality and delivery targets. • Partner with product development teams to ensure the right technology and processes to support new products and to drive seamless new product launches. • Help set and implement the vision for the factory of the future. • Create a culture committed to DBS & Continuous improvement • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualification
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor degree with 14 years exp Or Master’s Degree/Doctoral Degree with 12 years exp • At least six years of manufacturing management experience. Prior Plant/Operations daily management, process development and organizational development experience in a Lean operations environment, required. • Three years’ experience in directly managing a multi-function unit to include but not limited to (manufacturing, supply chain, quality, logistics & facilities), required • Positive attitude and ability to work closely with entire leadership team to drive change continuous improvement and engagement throughout the organization • Ability to lead a team and drive development of team members across all areas of responsibility • Action oriented individual who is highly proactive at solving problems and obtaining results. • Proven track record of managing managers and individual contributors and driving both performance and employee engagement • Demonstrated success in developing and using Problem Solving Processes and Action Plans to achieve stretch goal targets. • Familiarity with various technical manufacturing processes. Comfortable in a high technology, high complexity manufacturing environment. • Lean/Six Sigma experience • Demonstrated success planning and managing manufacturing savings and inventory goals, highly desirable. • Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment. • Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills. • Up to 40%-50% Travel required.
