Job Description

This is a fully remote position that will be dispatched from your home office. This home-based role can be located in Cleveland, Ohio, where our largest concentration of customers are. Several locations have been listed for marketing purposes but only one position is available.

In a company-provided vehicle, drive to various customer sites to perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation for Hach process and laboratory instrumentation! This role will have 75% travel and overnight stays at any of our approved hotels on average 2-3 nights/week. Training will occur over the first 90 days of employment and will include trips to our customer sites. The majority of training is on the job mentorship with more senior service technicians and sales team members on ride-a-longs.

Day- to- day:

  • Promote a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems

  • Submit timely, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure

  • Follow safe work practices according to company policy

  • Work with and takes direction from Field Service Manager/dispatch team to efficiently implement pre-call planning, efficient service schedule routing, and visit requirements

  • Coordinate with manager and materials handlers to determine appropriate replacement parts inventory

  • Manage efficient parts utilization, and maintain accurate inventory records

  • Additional time required as business needs dictate

  • Flexible scheduling required to meet customer demand

Are you qualified?

  • Associates or Technical degree preferred or combination of education and experience

  • Previous experience performing Preventative Maintenance (PM), diagnostics & repair on core products as required

  • 1-2 years proven experience field service work desirable

  • Driver’s License and clean driving record required
