Would you love to support projects in both R&D and Manufacturing? The Component Engineering Specialist will qualify new OEM parts to support R&D, review bills of materials to mitigate potential part problems and maintain viability of the component during development and through production!


  • Reviews and qualifies new components based on design requirements, lifecycle, technology, quality, Environmental and Regulatory compliance.

  • Support Manufacturing to alleviate OEM sourcing problems impacting build schedules including lead time, obsolescence, lifecycle reviews, supplier technical issues as well as examining and qualifying additional potential suppliers to improve delivery, cost, and quality.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering degree at an accredited University

  • Minimum 3 years as an electrical designer and selecting components for new designs, is preferred

  • Minimum 3 yrs experience in a fast paced, high technology, product development or R&D environment.

  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturing Suppliers in the Pacific Rim area is a plus

  • Knowledge of PLM systems. Working knowledge of Dassault Systèmes’ Enovia is an asset.

  • Knowledge of Autocad an asset.

  • Professional Engineer Accreditation an asset.
