Working with 3-4 agile teams who are part of a larger software program, you will enable your teams to deliver a fantastic user experience by synthesizing complex requirements and constraints into intuitive and efficient interaction designs.

In this role you will:

  • Facilitate analysis of features by multi-functional teams to align on task flows and the context within which these tasks are executed.

  • Translate task flows, usage requirements, and usability results into UI designs of varying fidelity, (e.g., artefacts at the conceptual level, storyboards, wireframes at increasing level of fidelity, functional prototypes).

  • Anticipate and prevent UX problems.

  • Work with members of the R&D teams to drive/facilitate/review design iterations. Collect detailed interaction behaviours in UI specifications used by product owners, UI developers, and verification specialists.

  • Develop UI artifacts that enforce to SCIEX’s digital brand and interaction standards.

  • Supply to the continual improvement of the digital brand controls and interaction patterns, including recommending improved digital standards and improving the digital repository for team usage.

  • Demonstrate empathy and advocate for the user in design review capacities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong experience as an Interaction designer, 6+ years preferred.

  • Leading small design teams on complex systems and understanding UI and software design processes

  • Interaction design skills (UI control elements, navigational constructs, information architecture); understand common desktop software UI patterns

  • Experience with UI wireframing tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma)

  • Experience with building interactive prototypes (e.g., HTML, Blend)

  • Excellent understanding of visual design principles, style guidelines, and graphic design skills (screen layout, icons, colour, font styles)

  • Experience with vector and pixel UI design techniques

  • Experience with writing detailed UI specifications suitable for a complex product
