Description
We are seeking acustomer-focusedSimulationEngineertohelp usdesign, integrate andverify key technologies onworld-class, state-of-the-art analytical instruments. The role is part of the Hardware Product Development team. In this capacity, the candidate willbe part ofhigh-performance, multi-disciplinary teams participating in all phases of productdevelopment, including product commercializationand concept realization. The individual willsolveproblems throughcollaborationwithmultiple engineeringand researchdisciplines, whilefollowingestablished guidelines,proceduresand design practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform computer Finite Element simulations to support the development of Sciex products and associated hardware. * Simulate engineering systems with respect to thermal, stress, vibration, shock and fluid dynamic operation. * Analyse and interpret simulation outputs to provide meaningful assessment and conclusions for communication to Engineers and Scientists. Refine simulation models where necessary to improve the accuracy of results. * Generate high quality formal reports detailing all relevant aspects of all requested simulations from requirements to conclusions. * Design and test prototype units to verify simulations * Propose effective design changes to improve performance based on simulation outputs * Disseminate information to wider groups via presentations, talks, written broadcasts, etc * Train Engineers and Scientists in the theory and use of Sciex simulation tools. * Act as a mentor for employees using Sciex simulation software

Qualification
* Undergraduate or higher Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline * Theoretical background in thermodynamics, stress analysis, mechanical vibration theory and fluid dynamics * Experience in the use of industry standard computational Finite Element software is mandatory. The use of ANSYS is preferable * 3 Years workplace experience in a position responsible for Finite Element analysis would be preferable * Experience in using at least one high level industry standard 3D CAD software package is mandatory * Candidate must be proactive, results-oriented, self-motivatedand willing to be part of a largerteamworking in collaboration with groups of Engineers and Scientists. * Candidate must be able to multi-task between work activities when required to do so. The ability to work to tight deadlines is essential.
* Candidate must have good communication skills and be familiar with a range of scientific / engineering principles and concepts. An excellent command of English is essential. * Excellent organizational skills. * Familiar with manufacturing processes, and the build of mechanical prototypes * Ability to work alone or in a group environment.
