Job Description

Do you want to make an impact from day one? Set the direction for the next generation Biomarker software! As the owner of our biomarker software, apply Mass Spectrometry expertise, software product management, and customer interaction to drive Sciex’s success in this space. This position works with customers to understand their requirements, translate those to our development team, and work with sales and marketing to ensure that the roll out and deployment of the software is successful and meets revenue targets. Working with our Open Innovation team, use knowledge of the industry to partner with third party companies to fill application gaps further enabling customer success. Drive decisions and have accountability for omics based and biomarker software products.

This can be a remote position!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage / develop road map to ensure portfolio alignment and meet the needs of their LC/MS markets

  • Interact with key internal and external customers globally to understand problems, solicit feedback, and provide solutions.

  • Collaborate as the "Technical Product Manager" with external partners to develop appropriate software solutions.

  • Prioritize and advocate customer and business needs to the partner.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including research, development, service, support and product management to define product requirements

  • Ensure the product requirements are implemented during new product development

  • Conduct/Support external customer evaluation to gain customer insight and test value of features and/or product. Deliver customer input to product development team.

  • Provide leadership and direction for all internal associates and external partners responsible for the project to ensure projects are successfully completed on time and consistent with organizational goals

  • Accountable for key aspects of product commercialization to ensure success in meeting revenue goals including collaborating with Quality Management Systems, R&D, and related roles

  • Coordinate and drive activities cross functionally related to global product launch execution, including developing positioning, sales training, pricing and collateral development.

  • Develop Business Plans and align across the organization for future products.

  • Estimate market size, segmentation and target market definition to drive a long term product roadmap for both new and existing products

  • Monitor business and ensure tactical execution is on track to meet revenue, profitability, and strategic goals

  • Evaluate financial performance of the product lines both at and after market, and establish metrics for the financial performance; develop countermeasures when performance is not met

  • Evaluate the competitive landscape, monitor competitors' activities and perform win/loss analysis

  • Manage full product life cycle including product end-of-life (EOL) in alignment with business needs

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • PhD, MSc or equivalent experience in a life science field.

  • Product Management experience is strongly desired.

  • Knowledge of mass spectrometry in the life science industries is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of emerging software technology is strongly preferred.

  • An understanding of market research standard methodologies strongly preferred.

  • Technical competence & confidence to work with the scientific community at all levels is required.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Travel (internationally) up to 30%
