The Training Leader is responsible for building and maintaining the training systems and programs for the Coralville Operations to include technical and skills development training that directly relate to the quality of our products and the retention of our associates. As part of the Operations leadership team this role is located in Coralville, IA and will be on-site. At IDT, we are one global team. In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and co-manage team of Lead Trainers and Document Specialists across multiple shifts to support training initiatives.

  • Manage the technical and skills development program for all positions within Operations to include translating requirements into training that will develop ongoing bench strength for our value streams.

  • Partner with Supervisors and Document Specialists to evaluate skills strengths and weaknesses throughout the Coralville Operations and provide training solutions to close gaps.

  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to develop and deliver hands-on training content for our associates. Other training and leadership initiates and support determined through ongoing needs assessment.

  • Audit the effectiveness of our training programs and provide effective feedback to improve programs and performance. Lead, manage, and partner with leaders to provide a value added first 90-day experience to improve retention across Coralville Operations.

  • Partner and collaborate with leaders on developing training and readiness of associates for new equipment and processes in Coralville Operations.

  • Provide technical writing assistance to support the creation of standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for the Operations team.

The essential requirements of this opportunity include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, or combination of education and experience.

  • At least 5+ years of leadership experience.

  • An extensive track record of designing and implementing technical training programs including the ability to evaluate organizational capability and technical strength to deliver effective training programs within a manufacturing or similar environment.

  • Demonstrates clear and collaborative communication skills and can present effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrates experience as evidenced by knowledge and skills in the use of daily management & action planning methodologies and tools required.

  • Proficient with technology including MS Office applications.

It would be preferred if you also possess:

  • A bachelor or master degree in business, education, HR or science related field, or more than 5+ years of related experience.

  • Danaher Business System (DBS) and/or IDT operational experience.

  • Ability to lead project teams and peers through ambiguity, frequent changes and effective decision making.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
