Pall Corporation is seeking a Continuous Improvement Leader. This role is responsible for demonstrating lean methodology combined with problem solving tools as a key strategy to deliver cost, cash and responsiveness goals. Position is responsible for leading operations teams within PTM to reach corporate and plant goals around Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and productivity by implementing and training others to implement the Danaher Business System (DBS) business model. Leads strategic and tactical deployment of DBS throughout PTM with accountability for ensuring that Lean methodologies are delivered to achieve significant sustainable results.

This role will be a regional role that will cover 3 sites. Putnam, CT, Cortland, NY and Timonium, MD. Willing to fill this role near any of these locations.

Work with business unit and functional leaders to develop process improvement strategies, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Assess manufacturing and business process efficiency and performance and find opportunities for improvement

  • Develop business cases, charters and establish financial and non-financial project goals

  • Lead organizational change activities (create transition plans from current to future state and execute)

  • Lead people and initiatives to ensure proper achievement of results

  • Develop and execute action plans to achieve strategic goals

Provide expertise to teams including:

  • Applies continuous improvement methods such as Lean, problem solving, SMED, etc.

  • Lean principles of collaboration, methodology, business benefit, innovation and customer focus

Subject matter expertise in DBS:

  • Lead ambitious change and work on identifying the greatest Lean opportunities

  • Coordinate benchmarking and external analysis (Subject Matter Experts, Workshops, company visits, etc.)

Identify and share standard methodologies:

  • Guide and mentor in DBS tools, i.e., problem solving and standardized work

Educate, communicate and excite the organization on DBS:

  • Develop and lead teams to embrace a practice that promote standard methodology sharing across the plant and within the corporation

  • Generate interest for DBS across Cortland site

  • Develop and promote common DBS Language across Cortland by integrating continuous improvements utilized across Pall and Danaher

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Science or Engineering related subject areas with 10+ years of business/operations management or manufacturing experience with management responsibilities

  • 5+ years of technical Mastery of continuous improvement tools and methodologies

  • Prior experience with deploying TPS based lean methods in operations is a critical requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or MBA preferred

  • Leadership: Willingness to work on the shop floor and lead by example; ability to influence decision making with or without authority, facilitate groups with different perspectives, bring teams to agreement. High tolerance for ambiguity

  • Communication: Interpersonal skills that build productive relationships and influence others, both within the business and across organizations. Ability to interact with all levels of the business (senior leaders to working teams), extraordinarily good listening skills, able to present sophisticated or new insights with clarity and simplicity

  • Teamwork: collaborate effectively with others in the spirit of common objectives

  • Planning and Execution: Excellent project management and prioritization skills. Shown intuition for business. Able to deliver results despite shifting environment

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Able to identify problems; apply structured and focused methodology to identify root cause using data. Innovative and effective solution development, risk mitigation and execution.

  • Hands-on experience with most of the following Lean / Problem solving tools: DMAIC, Lean, voice of the customer, benchmarking, quality function deployment, control charts, Standardized work, etc.
