This position will have the opportunity for occasional work from home and needs to be located within commutable distance to our Cortland, NY, office.

About the role

This position is the People Leader/Supervisor of a small team of warehouse & logistics associates. This role will drive operational efficiencies and process improvements onsite day to day, by reducing inventory, improving working capital, and purchasing various commodities. We will rely on you to assist the Procurement Manager in guiding staff and improving SAP processes, as well as other business initiatives.   • Provide daily on site functional supervision of personnel in warehouse communicating and ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures

  • Ensure a safe work environment exists consistent with OSHA and environmental regulations are adhered to

  • Complete required activities in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including communications and transfers as needed.

  • Anticipate, plan for and manage workload fluctuations.

  • Effectively drive and mentor Danaher Business Systems (DBS), while championing an environment of teamwork and associate engagement.

  • Collaborates with union and effectively works to resolve labor disputes expeditiously with uniformity and consistency of application. Promotes labor-management collaborative working relationship.

  • Create, Review and Implement policies and/or procedures for Warehouse & Inventory Management activities; against specific supply chain-based KPI performance measurement systems

  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation

  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers

  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues

  • Work with the Business Leaders / Managers, Procurement, Engineering Organizations to develop strategies to reduce inventory levels, shorten cycle times, increase quality, improve inventory turns, improve efficiency and maximize on-time delivery performance

  • Initiate, lead, implement and execute supply agreements (PO’s) that achieve Supply Chain Management Objectives and support the needs of the business

Am I qualified?

  • BS in Business or Supply Chain Management with 5 to 7 years Procurement or experience in another related field

  • MRP / ERP materials planning system experience. SAP experience is a plus.

  • Continuous Improvement and Problem-Solving experience. DBS (Danaher Business System) experience is a plus

  • Proven experience managing change in a fast-paced project environment
