Pall Corporation is seeking a creative and ambitious chemist as a Principal Scientist with a passion for wet etch chemistry processes and membrane science to join our R&D team in Port Washington, NY. This is a fantastic career opportunity to take an active role in discovering and developing next-generation porous filters tailored for semiconductor fabrication processes and contribute to our fast-growing microelectronics business segment.
Your Role as Principal Scientist, Microelectronics Technology:
Conducts chemistry research and engages in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects independent of direct supervision. Provides R&D leadership within the group and cross-functionally as needed to drive innovation. Contributes to NPD roadmap using application knowledge from Semiconductor OEMs. Role is a part of our growing R&D team at our Filter Development Center of Excellence for Microelectronics to develop state-of-the-art filtration, purification and separation products and processes for advanced semiconductor markets in wet etch processes.
Engage in product and process development for filter products targeting semiconductor wet etch filtration applications including: metal etch, CMP, oxide etch, nitride etch, and related processes.
Engage and collaborate with key leaders across our organization to establish and drive a path for defect control solutions for cutting edge semiconductor wet etch processes
Strengthen and contribute to Pall Microelectronics IP with innovation and findings to enable next generation chip manufacturing technologies
Maintains collaborations with other research and academic entities that enable breakthrough innovation
Utilizes sound fundamentals like Design of Experiments (DOE)
Communicates clearly to leadership, team members, and other key partners.
Works with global teams by overcoming cultural and language barriers
Uses global R&D and engineering resources in other time zones
Participates in teleconferences during off hours
Requires 10% travel both nationally and internationally
Chemistry focused BS in Science or Engineering (MS or PhD highly preferred) with at least 8 years of R&D or product development experience is required.
Experience in product development of electronic materials at OEMs or Material suppliers is highly preferred. Preference will be given for semiconductor wet etch related chemistry experience, including metal etch, CMP, oxide etch, nitride etch, and related processes. Exceptional inorganic chemistry and/or electrochemistry expertise related to the above may be substituted for experience in electronic materials and/or semiconductor processing.
Familiarity with a range of analytical techniques to analyze and quantify very small quantities of organic and inorganic chemical impurities related to on-wafer defects is highly desirable.
