The Production Supervisor would supervise and be responsible for the direct manufacturing operations in terms of safety, quality, productivity, on-time delivery to external customers with the intent of continuous improvement and leading results to achieve sustainable plant goals.

General:

  • Ensure the shipment goals, business goals, customer requirements and production plans are achieved as per direction of the manager.

  • eTime review - attendance

  • Email/Calendar review - communication

  • Ensure completion of off shift metrics reporting, contribute to daily management

  • Action plan review – contributes to problem solving (PSP updates), root cause analysis, corrective actions.

  • Audits - Kamishibai (safety and quality)

  • Overlaps with prior/post shift supervision to ensure effective shift transition.

Leadership:

  • Participate in Kaizens to drive continuous improvements.

  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and building security.

  • Report vital countermeasures and problem-solving data to management in the daily management walkthrough and reviews.

  • Lead off-shift operations and on-call responsibilities, including weekend shift coverage rotations.

  • Align with Team Leads and set employee expectations for the day.

  • Ability to make sound business decisions with minimal direction.

  • Safety walk

Problem Solving:

  • Allocates labor resources to work cells as vital to align with the day-to-day production needs of the business.

  • Effectively facilitates through conflict to ensure listening and adherence and support differences of opinions.

Engagement:

  • Effectively drive and mentor Danaher Business Systems (DBS), while championing an environment of collaboration and associate engagement.

  • Effectively communicates requirements using a team approach to accomplish goals and objectives.

  • Daily management and hourly count sheets.

  • Performance conversations with employees.

Business Impact:

  • Maximize the performance of value streams by sustaining lean conversion principles in order to meet customer requirements.

  • Drive training programs implemented through standard work practices that enable value streams to meet business requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2- 5 years of work-related experience, an associate degree with five years of related work experience or 10 years of manufacturing leadership responsibility.

  • 2+ years of experience using continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

  • Detailed proven understanding of Excel and experience with SAP and ADP eTime.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Able to identify problems; apply structured and focused methodology to identify root cause using data. Innovative and effective solution development, risk mitigation and execution. Hands-on experience with Lean / Problem solving tools: DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control), Lean, voice of the customer, benchmarking, quality function deployment, control charts, standardized work, etc.
