Looking for an opportunity to build innovative filtration solutions? The Scientist/Engineer I is responsible for fabricating, testing, and analyzing new filters and developing new processes to meet our customers needs. This role has the ability to make an impact on numerous new product development projects and grow into a subject matter expert.
This position is part of the FTAP New Product Development team and will be located in Cortland, NY.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Support the development work to increase technology readiness level for new product development initiatives tied to filtration such as
Coordinating with Technical Swimlane Owners to complete action items and drive towards technical milestones.
Prototyping new filter designs, designs tooling to facilitate fabrication of filters, supports media selection and characterization, and integrity tests filters.
Evaluating new product designs for manufacturability and integration into existing operations; specify and develop manufacturing processes and equipment as needed.
Interfaces with Manufacturing Engineers to facilitate the transition to full production.
Drives continuous improvement activities and application of relevant DBS tools.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or relevant Science with 3+ years work experience. Or MS degree with 0+ years work experience.
Ability to travel, as needed, both nationally and internationally.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
CAD software to support tooling designs.
Knowledge of filter design, fluid dynamics, chemical and hydromechanics, advanced membrane technology, gas separation technology.
Ability to set up and execute a design of experiments.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
