Position Summary:

The Senior Director of Digital and IoT product development will report to the CTO. The candidate would be a visionary to lead and develop hardware and sensor platforms with next generation connectivity to support all business units within Pall Industrial. Drives Industry 4.0 priorities for the business by outlining and implementing action-based plans. Develops digital technology strategy and road map, including but not limited to leading research and development in IoT, platform, Sensors, Data Analytics and Wireless Connectivity through internal development and external collaborations. Ensures use of technology efficiently, profitably, and securely. The successful candidate uses DBS tools, plans, directs, and supervises global IoT and digital strategy. She / He will lead identification and development of technologies in important and emerging business areas, drive innovation and product commercialization. The successful candidate will have experience in building and prioritizing a world-class team focused on excellence in innovation, subsequent activity will focus on acquisition due diligence and integration. Will be equipped and prepared to provide deeper insight, strengths, and skills to complement their direct reports.

This leader would be the active driver of innovation progress and growth in the emerging area of IoT and digital technology. For successful leaders, this role has runway to more senior leadership opportunities across Danaher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital strategy including IoT and Data analytics, define technology roadmaps that align with Pall Industrial business unit (BU) growth strategy.

  • Lead development of innovative products that utilize next generation IoT hardware architecture and data management/delivery to enable Industry 4.0 for various customer applications.

  • Provide technical leadership to product and technology development strategy and standardize platforms. Lead, Create and manage new hardware designs, connectivity and data analytics projects & sustain current projects

  • Establish standard procedures for NPD process - design reviews for validation and verification testing that meets application/customer specifications.

  • Lead teams of electrical, mechanical engineers, data scientists and software developers to ensure that all specified requirements have been verified or validated prior to production launch

  • Collaborate and communicate with BU leadership, product management, sales, support, software, engineering and manufacturing on a regular basis.

  • Set clear Digital Program objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, and instill a high-performing culture with a focus on accountability.

  • Inspire and craft the Pall Digital vision as a critical part of the company’s growth strategy and digital transformation.

  • Facilitate Design-Thinking and Tech Push workshops with Business Unit technical and commercial partners to discover opportunities where Digital can differentiate Pall in the marketplace.

  • Serve as an inspiring leader in Digital domains, understand the competitive landscape and maintain active engagement in the external community of vendors, universities, and partners.

  • Build, develop, encourage and lead a team of highly skilled, highly motivated associates in different functional roles globally.

  • Demonstrate leadership to leaders and associates; build a community of associates with high engagement and high performance.

  • Actively seek and qualify potential complementary, innovative technologies in the market in partnership with the BU and Strategic Product Planning groups

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field is required. Graduate degree (Master’s/PhD) preferred. Minimum of 12 years of related experience is required.

  • 10+ years of people management experience in building and leading successful engineering teams is required.

  • Strong background of New Product Development in IoT, Systems and related technology foundation with solid understanding of ground-breaking technologies and developing strategies to commercialize Digital solutions is required.

  • Knowledge of wide range of products and technologies, including analytical instruments, electronic and mechanical hardware, sensors, MEMS, firmware/software, data analytics and associated compliance requirements is preferred.

  • Experience in owning the development and commercialization of analytical instruments or similar electronic instrumentation is desirable.

  • Experience in using DBS Innovation tool set or similar innovation tools; Use of Stage-Gate process for new product development is highly desirable.

  • Experience in presenting the vision and strategy in bold, persuasive terms, gaining consensus within the organization, BU leadership and from external partners.

  • Innovation and the ability to move organizations strategically to take advantage of changing market opportunities
