In this role, you will perform research and development into medical filtration devices and membranes for medical device and diagnostic applications. You will lead investigations of new technologies and experimentation directed at the practical application of scientific theories. You will assure that programs meet scientific objectives and are aligned with customer needs, while building links with industry key opinion leaders.
Drive the design, development and transfer to manufacturing of new products and membranes for the Medical Business Unit.
Maintain written records of design and manufacture to enable timely and effective transfer of design from R&D to Manufacturing and actively participate in such transfers.
Carry out testing of development membranes and devices. Raise requests for and provide results analysis of internal and external laboratory test work performed on development membranes/devices.
Take technical leadership of development projects or sub-projects where assigned and appropriate.
Responsible for the organisation and planning of assigned R&D projects within the guidelines of ISO13485 and ISO9001 compliant Quality Management Systems.
Communicate effectively with external Suppliers, Product Management, Manufacturing, Regulatory and other Technical associates to ensure project timelines are met.
Education / Experience:
Science or Engineering Degree or equivalent required. Proven experience in filtration principles / membranes / material science is an advantage.
Some experience years experience in industry is essential along with experience working in a highly regulated industry (healthcare preferred but other sectors considered.
25% travel will be required to global manufacturing / supplier / customer sites.
