Position summary

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is the primary relationship manager for an assigned group of top Healthcare IDNs, GPOs and KOLs. These relationships include IDN Senior Executives/Administrators as well as IDN Affiliate’s Key Executives/Administrators, relevant Department Chairs and Key Opinion Leaders. The KAM works in concert with the Regional Sales Manager, Clinical Sales Specialist, and local sales team members to drive business growth across the Ophthalmology solutions portfolio within the region. The KAM will report to the Director of Ophthalmology.

Key responsibilities

  • Develops and expands long term relationships with IDN & GPO Executives/Administrators and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the Medical community

  • Thoroughly understands the IDN, GPO and KOL purchasing drivers/behaviors for both technical and non-technical strategies

  • Understands and keeps current the organizational structure and dynamics of responsible IDN and GPO organizations

  • Serves as a liaison between KOLs, internal sales teams and the business unit (BU) to enable:

  • A direct flow of business and technical intelligence to the BU

  • Presentation of tailored technical solutions to the KOLs

  • Maintains an up-to-date sales funnel and participates in regular calls to include: Business Reviews, Visual Management, Forecast, Funnel, etc.

Professional experience

Required

  • 5+ years of account management experience within the medical industry primarily focused on GPO, IDN and KOL customers

  • Located within the South East US, ideally in either Florida or Texas.

  • Ability to effectively engage and influence a wide variety of audiences both internal and external

  • A focus on relationships and able to build trust quickly through expectation setting, communication and delivery of solutions

  • Analytical and organization skills suitable for a fast-paced environment

  • Consultative approach to managing complex client relationships

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Travel (required estimated % of time): 50% includes 0% international
