The Director, Biopharma Partnerships is responsible for ensuring that Leica Biosystems is leading the way in Companion Diagnostic (CDx) product development for key biomarkers. You will be externally facing to pharmaceutical industry partners and internally facing to the cross functional LBS team. This is a senior role, responsible for successful management and growth of Leica's CDx portfolio.

In this role, you will

Provide input to and lead operational execution of the LBS key biomarker strategy with Pharma Partners including input and guidance on product life cycle management of the key biomarker life cycle road map (indications, AI applications, multi-modal and multiplex solutions, etc.)

Partner with the CDx Business Development team and Pharma partners or others outside the organization as needed including provide input to biopharma strategy and lead go to market strategies (e.g. value proposition, proposal strategy development and execution), and represent the organization in providing solutions on projects.

Act as the primary interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders; ensure that various departments, processes, and systems work cohesively to deliver on defined project goals and customer milestones in and efficient and agile manner.

Create self-initiated assignments, independently determine priorities, both tactical and strategic, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.

Act as the integrator / subject matter expert for CDx development projects; lead cross functional matrixed teams who are not direct reports but for which you will have direct accountability to lead and achieve program/project objectives.

The essential requirements of the job include.

  • Direct operational experience from conceptualization to delivery of CDx programs with Bio Pharma (including but not limited to leading / working in a CLIA environment, leveraging data to build and launch AI algorithms etc.)

  • Experience delivering complex projects by leading through influence and collaborating with across cross-functional teams towards achieving strategic objectives.

  • Deep understanding of the drug and diagnostic development processes (clinical trials, efficacy endpoints, biomarker testing), specifically focused on pharma's diagnostic needs across translational to clinical stages, inclusive of key biomarkers for novel therapies.

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the CDx competitive landscape (novel and established clinical and diagnostic assay technologies) and in global IVD regulatory considerations including US/EU/China.

  • Strategic thinker, agile, and sound decision maker; leveraging exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to adapt to complex internal and external challenges and deliver results, with the ability to drive a customer focused culture by continuously gathering and analyzing customer feedback.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • The current regulatory environment

  • Proven CDx experience – owned the successful launch of a CDx project.

  • Networking and well connected to oncology Pharma leaders.
