Position Summary

The Senior, Commercial Operations Analyst – Performance and Compensation role for the Americas is responsible for sales compensation administration, reporting, and analysis for Leica Biosystems.

In this role, the Senior, Commercial Operations Analyst will work independently with direction from the Commercial Operations Manager and Business Leadership. This individual is expected to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully balance internal and external business operation demands and have a strong foundation of sales operations, process improvement and ERP system knowledge. Expert level understanding of sales compensation best practices and automated systems (i.e., Callidus, Xactly, etc.) is required. Foundational understanding of SAP, product master data, pricing and order management is strongly preferred. This role is based in our Deer Park, IL office with the expectation to be onsite 2-3 days per week with flexibility as business needs require.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Compensation administration and analysis

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of sales incentive payments to the sales organization

  • Calculate compensation payments

  • Circulate for approval / signoff and submit to payroll, and create / distribute pay statements

  • Maintain and improve the systems, processes and data that drive the sales incentive plans for a large, multi-role sales organization (including maintaining sales territories, account adjustments, product inclusions, etc.)

  • Participate in plan design and drafting-model proposed plans against anticipated business conditions.

  • Communicate plans and participate in training the commercial sales team.

  • Sales reporting and analysis-data compilation, analytics and updating of key strategic divisional and senior staff initiatives (KPI, PD, etc.).

  • Roll-up of divisional direct and dealer tracings and generate detailed monthly orders, sales and unit reports for sales reps and managers.

  • Lead or assist in automating all existing, as well as new, reports. Synergize reporting efforts and strategies between Sales, Marketing and Finance (key units, multi-divisional support processes, leads, pipelines).

  • Ad Hoc projects and reporting as necessary.

Required Education, Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelors degree (with concentration in Finance or Computer Science Strongly Preferred) or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years relevant work experience (Compensation, Analytics, Finance or HR role)

  • Proven capability with automated sales compensation systems (i.e., Callidus, Xactly, Iconixx -including the ability to maintain and update database tables, queries/rules & overall structure.)

  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., high comfort level with consolidating and joining data, creating formulas, macro development) and other analytical tools like Microsoft Power BI

  • 3 – 5 years with SAP strongly preferred

  • Strong visual basic and/or SQL coding a plus

  • Team player with a demonstrated ability to have organizational agility to work on a complex team in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a positive attitude
