The Technical Support Engineer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for providing technical expertise and communicating directly with our customers.

This position is part of Technical Customer Support Organization located in Vista, CA or Deer Park, IL. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Technical Support Engineering Team and report to the Director of Service Operations. Responsibilities include providing first class technical support via phone and email for internal and direct customers using leading-edge digital pathology products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform software and hardware troubleshooting, to component level, and escalate issues as required according to standard operating procedures

  • Provide guidance on software configuration, troubleshoot Windows networking, connectivity and permissions issues remotely with our customers

  • Provide direct technical support to field-based Sales, Applications, Field Service Engineer teams and update knowledge base articles for internal team use

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • High School/GED Equivalency Diploma OR 5+ years of equivalent technical work experience providing technical support for client/server configurations and systems with software and hardware components. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Experience with software installation on Windows-based software products and supporting products with TCP/IP networking components in a Windows environment

  • Good problem-solving techniques with outside the box thinking. Well-organized, and able to follow through on commitments to customers

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Skilled technical writer able to document problems and solutions for use by other Technical Support personnel

  • Experience supporting Apache web server products and image processing applications

  • Experience with medical devices, applications, and/or regulated environments

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. The salary range for this role is $58,000 - $102,700. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
