We are looking for an experienced and driven microscopist who can guide a diverse team of sales professionals and delivery essential customer feedback to our research engineers.

The Product Performance Manager (PPM) is responsible for managing microscope products for Life Science Research (LSR) applications including:• Product training our sales and support associates at Leica Microsystems• Assuring that the complex imaging system solutions we are offering customers meet the needs of their applications• Supporting essential events for key opinion leaders and associations in the field of biological and medical research.

The PPM is an essential role that assures that our field sales and support associates as well as our product managers and R&D staff have the best current knowledge or our existing product portfolios technical performance, how it compares to competitors’ offerings as well as existing gaps in meeting customer applications needs in the USA and Canada.


  • Primary Liaison between our Products, our Sales and Support Associates and our Customers Applications

  • Teach our sales and support associates how to properly configure our microscopy products to offer superior solutions for researchers’ applications

  • Review and assure that complex systems offerings are properly configured to meet with customer applications requirements

  • Provide consolidated and articulate feedback from our customers to business unit marketing and product development associates and engineers

  • Collect, consolidate, and report product deficiencies, failures, and safety issues

  • Conduct microscopy training at key opinion leader and research association events

  • Support product launches, trade shows, and special VIP events

  • Support the design of the demonstration instrument pool to assure optimal capability and fiscal efficiency


  • Education: M.S. in Biology desired; Ph.D a plus

  • 3-5 years’ experience microscopy using advanced imaging techniques with demonstrated success in working strongly in a team environment. Experience supporting Life Science capital equipment sales with specific focus in Life Science Research at major academic institutions a plus.

  • Strong microscopy background with proven mastery of advanced imaging techniques

  • Functional understanding of customer applications and the data requirements they have

  • Strong analytic, trouble shooting, and writing skills

  • Skilled at focusing on Best Few actions to drive growth.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Sales Force Dot Com a plus

  • Ability to travel 35% in the field travel time with overnight stays and occasional international travel

  • Position is 100% remote and need to be located near a major hub.
