Pall Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Engineer (Additive) located in Deland, FL. The objective of the Manufacturing Technology Engineer (Additive ) position is to develop, deploy and validate equipment and process technology to support New Product Development (NPD), lead day-to-day problem solving to drive improvements in quality, cost and on time delivery and lead continuous improvement Kaizen events.

  • Must ensure all relative routings, fixtures, tooling, procedures, processes, etc. are appropriately and safely in place for manufacturing. (20%)

  • Focus on reduction in process variation, waste reduction, standard work creation, preventative maintenance, process and quality upsets and optimized cell design. (20%)

  • Plan, manage, and directs projects, proposals, tests, and evaluations in accordance with lean manufacturing best practices. (20%)

  • New Product Introduction Team and is responsible for the transfer of new products from development into production. (20%)

  • Lead and handle all phases of major projects including capital purchases and process development/revision. (10%)

  • Provide technical guidance and Train other Associates in technical matters. (10%)

Key Tasks

  • Problem solve manufacturing issues at Gemba

  • Lead continuous improvement kaizen events

  • Find opportunities for improvements in quality, cost, reliability and efficiency of manufacturing equipment.

  • Develop or maintain programs associated with improving manufacturing production equipment.

  • Install and evaluate manufacturing equipment, materials or components.

  • Monitor or measure manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce losses, decrease cycle/lead-times, or improve quality.

  • Prepare plant and cell layouts, specifications, drawings, sketches of machinery / equipment including tooling and standard work documents using CAD software.

  • Develop capital investment justifications for manufacturing equipment.

  • Develop costing structures for manufactured product

  • Ensure consistency to safety rules and practices.

  • Training and operating materials for Production Equipment.

  • Train manufacturing associates on production equipment including H&S, quality etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A recognized Engineering Degree or equivalent and subsequent experience in Product & Process engineering.

  • Minimum five years’ experience in technical process improvements.

  • Experience with daily management, standard work, lean conversion.

  • Workable knowledge of CAD

  • Experience with Kaizen and lean manufacturing

  • Experience with additive manufacturing would be advantageous

  • Formal training, qualification and experience in Six Sigma techniques would be advantageous.

  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements under minimal supervision

  • Strong oral and communication skills with people at different levels of the organization ranging from Manufacturing Associates to Operations leaders

  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective time management and multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to lead small teams (3 – 6 employees) in root cause and corrective action teams or kaizen events

  • Personal commitment and drive to improve manufacturing operations

  • Commitment to using Danaher Business System (DBS)/CI tools as needed to achieve results

  • Ability to work closely with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences

  • Ability to learn and grow as a professional

  • Ability to train others in technical disciplines.

  • Knowledge of process validation procedures and techniques e.g. FMEA, process capability studies.

  • Computer literate (SAP, Microsoft Office software, Project Management, Statistical Analysis).

  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing tools.

  • Understanding of process and equipment validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and written user requirement specifications (URS)

  • Effective decision making and analytical ability to render sound decisions based on data.

  • Financial skills to understand and use business financial data.

  • Exhibits a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
