General responsibility:

Serve in a support role to build manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation for the production of new product. Work is under general supervision and follows general procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall accuracy. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in project schedule and may result in the allocation of additional resources. Executes engineering documents and drawings, bills of material and procedures through engineering change process standard work. Supports engineering documentation and part number creation for design engineering quotations.

Three or more years’ experience in an engineering design environment with CAD drawing creation and modification. Proficiency in SAP material master data.

Education and knowledge:

  • Associate Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering Technology required. (A Bachelor's Degree is not required.)

  • Has good understanding of technical principles, theories and concepts, as relates to Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering functions.

  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and tackle technical problems of moderate scope and complexity,

  • Has good knowledge of Geometric, Dimension and Tolerances (G.D.&T)

  • Has basic understanding of ISO9000 and QS9000 engineering and quality standards,

  • Has the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

  • Has good digital literacy including spreadsheet analysis, report writing, and 3-D solid modeling software applications,

  • Has strong reasoning ability, organizational and planning skills and follow through,

  • Must act appropriately with internal and external contacts at all levels,

  • Knows how to effectively train others.

Essential job functions:

  • Build manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation for new product manufacturing and new component procurement.

  • Participate as engineering team member on New Product Development projects to support design and documentation requirements of the project.

  • Create and maintain project schedules through the design cycle,

  • Manage changes of drawings and associated documentation for manufacturing as requested by design engineering

  • Engineering quotation support for new and modified products with supporting drawings and documentation as the need arises.

  • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement events.

  • Special projects as assigned

  • Develop annual objectives in concert with department and company goals.
