Danaher Corporation Global Infrastructure - IT Operations Intern in Deland, Florida

Position Competencies:

Knowledge & Key Skills:

  • Good knowledge of PC hardware and associated peripherals.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft O/S, Server and Desktop

  • Ability to use technical documentation and diagnostic tools to solve hardware and software problems.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good judgement and strong analytical skills as well as follow-up and organisational skills.

Essential Previous Experience:

  • 1 years’ experience of desktop support.

  • 1 years’ experience of network applications / operating systems / hardware.

  • 1 years’ experience implementing and maintaining Windows based application servers.

Miscellaneous: (e.g. may be prepared to work unsociable hours, do shift work)

  • Be prepared to work unsociable hours.

  • Provide out of hours support.

  • Provide coverage for National Holidays (Hotline Rotation).

Main Duties:

Responsibilities for the following:

  • Provide remote user support for desktops, laptops and local lab equipment.

  • Provide administrative support for select local server systems.

  • Provide technical guidance to users and management for desktop support and local server systems.

  • Participate in projects or teams and directed by the Manager/Supervisor.

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of all relevant hardware and software.

  • Develop and maintain appropriate desktop and server related procedures and ensure these procedures are enforced.

  • Develop a working knowledge of department specific applications.

  • Keep abreast of technical aspects of PC-LAN computing environment.

  • Perform daily backup procedures as defined by technical leads.

  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service, efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Log into and use telephone and computer-based Service Desk system to record all support activities.

Other Duties:

  • Contribute to meeting the departmental key performance indicators.

  • Provide training to regional communities as required.

General Health and Safety:

  • To make a positive contribution to housekeeping.

  • Report and address any safety defects.
