Danaher Corporation Manufacturing Associate - Weekend A Shift in Deland, Florida

Weekend A Shift: Friday - Sunday 7 AM - 7 PM

Job Overview

This utility position is responsible for safely performing job functions at the highest level of quality, in the processing of media, mesh, and elements. This person is also responsible for providing accurate paperwork and record-keeping. Must have the ability to use measuring and test equipment as required, follow all company rules and policies as well as OSHA/EPA regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect, cut, and lay-up of dynalloy, fibermet, and continuous rolls

  • Operate calendaring equipment (rolling mills)

  • Cut and calendar wire mesh

  • Material handling and identification

  • Staging and unstaging media sheets, continuous rolls, mesh, and elements

  • Building and loading fixtures

  • Calendar media sheets and continuous rolls to manufacturer and thickness specifications

  • Operate continuous Hydrogen furnace and Vacuum furnaces

  • Final inspection, trim, and package of media products

  • Accurately use measuring devices

  • Assist other team members as instructed by your Team Leader or Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.

  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is desired.

  • Maintain an acceptable level of attendance (as measured by the Attendance Policy).

  • Use protective equipment as required

  • Able to read and understand written instructions.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Experience in like work centers

  • Good mechanical skills and troubleshooting ability

  • Ability to be accurate with both calipers and micrometer.

  • Experience in working with steel microfibers is preferred but not needed.

Training/Certification

Will be trained and certified in all aspects of the position. Training is typically conducted over a prescribed period of time and may require working at night. When and if training certification is required, it may consist of taking and passing one or more comprehensive test(s) based on classroom materials, computer training information, and/or field hands-on training comprehension demonstrations. When and if training certification is required, the incumbent will be asked to renew his/her certification at regular intervals when or if a lack of certification-level knowledge is demonstrated. Must maintain a satisfactory level of certification when required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs. Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push, and pull for long periods of time. Able to climb a ladder and flex the upper and lower body. Must be able to read and write simple statements. Able to analyze, memorize, and conduct and comprehend simple mathematical tasks. Be able to make decisions and have sound judgment. Must be able to wear a face respirator for up to 4 hours at a time.

Each incumbent is assigned a pre-determined work schedule to follow by their Team Lead or Work Center Supervisor.
