Job Summary

Work/responsibilities regularly span multiple job families within this job group. Applies research and principles of engineering to the planning, design, development, documentation, and testing/debugging of a variety of instruments, equipment, systems and/or software. This job family is intended to accommodate 1) jobs whose accountabilities span two or more job families within the job group; 2) jobs that are not covered by a defined job family within the job group; 3) managerial roles spanning more than one family that are not broad enough in scope and impact to be assigned to the Business Unit/General Management job family within the Management job group.


  • BSc/MSc or equivalent in Process engineering, chemical engineering or equivalent.

  • Previous Experience: Proven ability of process engineering / project management of equipment used in Food & Beverage manufacturing in an EPC company

  • Proven track record of having lead and successfully executed various sophisticated projects within Food & Beverage industry or equivalent

  • Commercial acuity on project level, successful track record of claims management

  • Experience of working on projects in various cultures.

  • Experience of working with outside subcontractors including mechanical fabricators, electronic fabricators, Software designers and automation professionals.

Position Proficiencies:

  • Ability to review and comment customer URS, tender and contract documents and possible executions' strategy to meet customer requirements.

  • Use of MS Office tools, SAP PP & PS, CAD Viewers, Adobe Acrobat

  • Detailed understanding of projects and contracts management, change and claim handling

  • Knowledge and understanding of the current industry guidelines for designing, manufacturing, testing and detailing Food & Beverage process equipment

  • Project management experience for the execution of system projects in accordance to the defined specifications, time schedule and cost.

  • Direct experience of working in the Brewing and Beverage industry would be an advantage.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to work in a multinational and interdisciplinary team with a high degree on global travelling.

  • Ability to communicate effectively on sophisticated technical / engineering issues at the highest level. Pall internal as well as with the customer.

  • Language skills English, Portuguese, preferably a third language as an addition.

  • Ability to guide other team members from the key experiences and detailed technical know-how.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of large scale and sophisticated projects, take ownership from handover phase form quote to execution until final sign of the project which may include multiple different teams.

  • As project lead manage scope, timeline and contract to meet customer expectation against budget and quality

  • After Order placement execute the proposed engineered system solution based on agreed and defined contractual specification together with a defined project team as project manager and supporting process engineering.

  • Ability to share the working experience and expertise with other team members and act as technical specialist/mentor within the team to develop the organization by mentoring Project managers and process engineers on their daily work and on critical technical questions which require specific knowledge and experience in this field.

  • Support applications engineering in giving advice with tender & URS analysis, discuss, propose and define final engineered technical system solution and associated costing.

Essential Job Functions:

  • 80 % Responsible to handle global assigned projects according to contract, project budget, the required timing and quality including accurate scope & claim management from first contact via order award to full completion of the project, including Responsible for the analysis of contract and tender documents and the technical elaboration of the engineered equipment solution.

  • Seek the responsibility and ownership for the proposed equipment solution during project execution with a multidisciplinary team (establishment of project plan, coordination of project team, progress reporting and cost control)

  • Respect current industrial standards applicable for the project and work in accordance to our established quality management system.

  • Execute and coordinate all qualification activities included in the project (pre-FAT, SAT)

  • Responsible for complete project sign off.

  • Responsible for internal and external project reporting

  • 10 % Responsible for providing technical guidance in critical questions to the other team members while acting as a coach/trainer.

  • 10 % Taking ownership for key technical expertise and knowledge and making sure the organization can benefit from the expertise thru trainings and advices.
