Goal of the position:
The DBSO Director is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) at Danaher companies, allowing those sites to meet their Policy Deployment (PD) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. The DBSO Director helps to create DBS Sustainability both broadly across Danaher and in a targeted fashion at mentored Operating companies. S/he report to the Sr Director, Lean Europe.
Accelerate results in SQDC by leveraging DBS tools, mentoring skills, and change management processes.
Assist leadership in the development of a DBS roadmap to meet PD/CVD/KPI requirements and DBS Sustainability
Promote and facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate them
Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and mentoring at Gemba. Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (ECO, DBSLO, DBS Bootcamps, Shingijutsu, etc.)
As Process Tool owner for select DBS tools, promote the use and improvement of these tools and build a network of global CPs and ACPs to support Danaher and OpCO needs
Promote and facilitate associate development in DBS Fundamentals, Lean tools and other DBS tools as required
Continue to evolve DBS tools, as prioritized through the annual DBSO Strat process. Benchmark internally in Danaher and externally and incorporate best practices into DBS
This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Significant expertise in the following is required:
10+ years of Operations, Continuous Improvement or Engineering Leadership experience
BS or BA Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view
Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies (e.g., Assembly, Machining, etc.)
Mastery of DBS Fundamentals and a variety of DBS Lean tools. Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS sustainability roadmaps
Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience:
As Plant Manager / Director of Operations/DBS experience level or higher
Driving change in regulated environments (e.g., FDA)
This Leader must have a strong gemba-orientation (spend time and drive change at the ‘real place’ – where the ‘value happens’).
