Danaher Corporation Director. Informatics and Connectivity Solutions in Duesseldorf, Germany


The Director of Connectivity and Informatics Solutions will operate from a high level, broad-scale systemic healthcare collaborative to create the successful sale and on-time implementation of connectivity and informatic solutions for customers across European developed markets.

The Director will establish procedures and enable this new sales support organisation, setting clear objectives aligned with European Commercial leadership objectives. The Director will partner with internal stakeholders and sales teams to position the connectivity team to assist with Health System and customer projects/deals. The Director will work with customers to position connectivity and informatics approaches complementary to the GeneXpert® systems that optimise both technical integration and clinical lab and point of care diagnostics workflow.

The Director will a leading advocate at a senior level for the connectivity needs of the region with Global Marketing, Innovation and Software Development teams.

This role works closely with regional Sales leadership, Marketing, Field Applications, Clinical Solutions, Customer Care, Vendor Partners, and Sales Training to support the field teams with ongoing connectivity and informatics training, account strategy, and business case development in order to achieve optimised, on time integration of Cepheid products into customer’s existing healthcare IT systems and adoption of informatics product solutions. Using extensive knowledge of customer needs for connectivity and informatics combined with Voice of Customer, the Director will work with regional marketing to create a clear road-map of prioritised needs to provide Cepheid with a highly competitive position.


  • Ensures that connectivity and informatics solutions help accelerate overall company growth strategies through their effective sales and on time implementation

  • Manage and build a successful team and provide/create standard work

  • Drive leadership of the connectivity team to provide accountability, responsibility and transparency of team functions

  • Work with sales and marketing stakeholders to integrate team activity into SFDC to optimise efficiency, ensure collaboration and collect and drive key performance metrics

  • Works alongside regional marketing and drives product owners in development and execution of product strategy and product launches

  • Develops, report and maintain key performance indicators

  • Participates in strategic planning for the business providing a thorough understanding of market directions and dynamics for the product and its applications across Europe

  • Collaborate with Global Marketing to identify unmet customer needs and identify new solution opportunities through a structured VOC process

  • Serves as key consultant for input and interpretation of issues that impact product performance, sales, quality, cost or reliability. Has primary responsibility for working with appropriate groups to resolve these issues as needed

  • Understanding of clinical environment, competitor products – continuous development of knowledge

  • Participate in industry symposium, key conferences, and meetings

  • Monitoring the industry landscape

  • Facilitates Customer User Group Meetings and VIP Visits

Education or Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related work experience OR

  • Master’s degree in field with 6+ years of related work experience OR

  • Doctoral degree in field with 3+ years of work experience

Knowledge and skills:

  • Proven track record of team leadership achievements

  • Comfortable working in a corporate setting populated with large groups of diverse people

  • An ability to interface at a highly technical level with assurance and confidence with Customers and internal departments

  • Working knowledge of the healthcare information technology landscape, clinical workflows and laboratory testing interoperability

  • Demonstrable knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, POCT01A, LOINC, SNOMED

  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding goals and objectives

  • Strong computer skills (Office, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint), use of CRM systems (ideally Salesforce.com)

  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to connect with customer base and build relationships

  • High level of energy, engagement and responsibility

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the clinical diagnostic market, process improvement and laboratory optimisation

  • Presents technical information in a concise manner and appropriately responds to questions from employees, Executives, executive management, vendors, or customers.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time/priorities

  • Ability to adapt and react to dynamic and changing circumstances in the market

  • Able to work as a member of a multi-functional team, strong interpersonal communication, organisational skills and planning ability

  • Maintains current technical and competitor market knowledge by reading, analysing and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Previous experience interacting with stakeholder such as: Laboratory management, supervisors, IT Administration, LIS vendors, 3rd party middle-ware companies, contractors and facilities.

  • Strong presentation skills
