Position Overview

As a Facilities Technician I, you will be an integral part of the operations team. Facilities technicians are responsible for providing ongoing technical and maintenance support including diagnosing facilities equipment and systems related issues/downtime, performing preventative maintenance, assisting any equipment servicing and repair, and moving equipment/controls as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems.

  • This includes, but not limited to, motors, pumps, relays, circuit breakers, electronic machine controls and circuits, computers, printers, and other equipment.

  • Fabricate complex parts to blueprint and work instructions using various hand and power tools as required

  • Work from wiring diagrams, schematics, and manuals

  • Setup and conduct preventative maintenance (PM) on facilities equipment and systems as well as maintain PM schedules and records as needed

  • Install and maintain a wide variety of complicated machine tools , test stands, and building equipment with minimum direction

  • Analyze and interpret test data, adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuits and components

  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required including scorecards, hazards recognitions, routers, and data

  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes and procedures to improve safety, quality, and cost of running the equipment

  • Participate in continuous improvement/Kaizen activities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • General knowledge of HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, building management system, and building repairs

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a building maintenance role in a manufacturing environment

  • Basic math, reading and writing skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate, understand and follow verbal and written instructions

  • Proficient computer skills to access production information as required

  • Willing to work overtime as needed

  • Technical Degree or trade school degree with a focus in Mechanical, HVAC, or Electrical and/or another related technical field, preferred

  • Solid mechanical aptitude with proven ability to logically troubleshoot problems, recommend short term and long-term solutions, preferred

  • Advanced electrical, controls, plumbing, troubleshooting skills, preferred

  • Experience working in a company operating under ISO, FDA, or similar quality systems or regulations, preferred

  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment, preferred

  • Microsoft Office and SAP experience (specifically in manufacturing environment) preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 35 lbs. daily and stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours or more)

  • Frequently twist and bend

  • Ability to work with hazardous solvents, oils, and other chemicals

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing tasks

  • Be able to work with machinery with heights (i.e. work platforms)

  • Team player – willing to do what it takes to get the job done and works well with others
