Position Overview

The Operations Manager leads the production activity to ensure that basic objectives of quality, quantity and production are consistent with defined standards and maximized use of material, labor and equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains manufacturing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities. For off-site training facilities and on site training

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraisal job results; mentoring, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures

  • Directs and coordinates, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities by utilizing knowledge of products, technology, production methods, and capabilities of machine and equipment

  • Using DBS tools, plans and directs production activities and established production priorities for products by keeping with effective operations and cost factors

  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports by resolving causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems

  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures by eliminating operating problems and improving product quality

  • Improves production and quality of products by collaborating with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment

  • Produces products by establishing production-planning systems, maintaining goods manufacturing practices; implementing quality standards; improving products and processes

  • Achieves financial objectives by establishing objectives, developing budgets, controlling costs, and improving use of assets

  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operation and forecast data by determining department’s progress towards stated goals and objectives

  • Maintains safe work environment by establishing and carrying out safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Aligns with QRS, ISO and all applicable regulations and company procedures

  • Aligns with legal requirements by implementing company policies/procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results; keeping business information confidential; coordinating the system security; ensuring data accuracy and integrity

  • Ensure that all personnel in his/her area are aware of the importance of Environmental Policy and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements

  • See opportunities and propose ideas to minimize or eliminate environmental aspects or impacts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and /or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry

  • Minimum of (10) years in an Operations Manager/Leader role

  • Knowledge of DBS Tools (Kaizen, 5S, SQDP, PSP, others)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Computer Literate, MS applications

  • Start up experience, preferred
