This role offers the unique opportunity to help stand up a completely new facility, grow the SUT business, and participate in activities including setting up the equipment and processes for safe, quality focused manufacturing. This position is an integral part of the successful set up of the new plant for future success. Quality Control Specialists are responsible for validating raw materials, production documents, and ensuring testing results are aligned with the quality management system and specifications. This role will inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet our standards and specifications, calibrate tools and equipment, as well as monitor cleanroom environmental systems.
Perform in-process and finished good product testing. Collect and analyze production samples to ensure product meets the required specifications
Perform mechanical testing on work-in process and finished products (tensile strength, dimensional and visual checks, etc.)
Accurately record all production data (including sample labels, labor recording, etc.). Complete shift report and accurate shift transfer
Perform rework as required to minimize cost associated with quality issues
Contain problems batches from stock, WIP, etc. to ensure problem is contained
Inspect components, hardware, and semi-finish goods for visual, dimensional, and/or functional non-conformances
Performs special analyses as the need arises (infrared, cross-section, etc.)
Collect and file appropriate documentation for incoming material to ensure batch lot control and quality specifications are traceable
Calibrate measuring equipment, devices, production equipment and tools
Supervise environmental systems – particle counting, bioburden testing, and air velocity measurements
Ensure all cleanroom environmental checks are complete to retain cleanroom certification
Immediately raise concerns and issues to leadership team
Perform additional analysis (complaint investigations, engineering tests, etc.)
Enter dimensions/data in computer systems (including SAP, Excel, Lotus Notes, etc.)
High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
Minimum of two (2) years in a manufacturing or professional environment
Basic math, reading and writing skills
Experience inspecting, auditing, and ensuring compliance with quality procedures and standards
Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word specifically)
Must be willing to work overtime in order to meet company goals
Experience in a cleanroom manufacturing, preferred
SAP or other ERP experience (specifically in manufacturing environment), preferred
Participate in continuous improvement/Kaizen activities as required
Bend, lift, twist, sit and stand for long periods of time
Required lifting weight: Up to 35 lbs. daily
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (up to 100% of the time)
Work safety - according to all safety procedures
Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
