Position Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will assist in leading the Strategic Sourcing activities related to Pall’s CapEx requirements in the America’s and assist in indirect requirements for the sites. This role will have an immediate focus on assisting with the activities for the CapEx (capital expenditures) for the Life Science expansion in the America’s. These activities include, but are not limited to significant interaction with Sales, Engineering and Operational functions to provide Global Sourcing, Outsourcing, Insourcing and overall Sub Contract Management in line with corporate strategy. The role will require interaction with other Strategic Sourcing/Category Managers, both regionally and globally.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for various Strategic Sourcing KPI’s; including Purchase Price Change, Purchase Price Variance, Cost Reduction/Margin Enhancement, DPO/Supplier Payables, Global Value Engineering (VAVE) /LCC Sourcing, e-Auctions and Supplier Performance

  • Manage several supplier relationships, formulate and negotiate critical supply contracts, including assembling and analyzing market data, evaluating supply alternatives and crafting negotiating strategies

  • Participate in continuously developing suppliers to meet Palls “Preferred/Qualified Suppliers/Grow” status (Forward Procurement List)

  • Participate in design reviews with engineering and suppliers on manufacturability & raw material selection in order to achieve most efficient component / service cost

  • Support, evaluate, and mentor the local tactical purchasing team members while ensuring policies and procedures related to compliance, commitments, early involvement, supplier selection / evaluation, and supplier development are understood and implemented

  • Continuously evaluate existing supply base to target opportunities for improvement

  • Collaborate with procurement team to establish “local” manufacturing site inputs / requirements are aligned with center led strategy

  • Design, lead, negotiate, and implement multiyear Pall contracts (as applicable) including RFQs and e Auctions

  • Maximize “year over year” working capital improvements

  • Assist in vendor transitions (Outsourcing, Insourcing, Vendor to Vendor)

  • Support cross-functional efforts to reduce costs, standardize components through the VAVE process

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, Procurement, Engineering, Business, or related

  • Minimum of 3 years of procurement / category management / strategic sourcing experience

  • High level negotiation skills, with proven performance results

  • Global sourcing experience for a global multinational manufacturing company

  • Experienced with the usage of electronic sourcing tools for RFI, RFQ, Reverse Auction

  • Proficient PC skill sets (Microsoft Office, heavy Excel)

  • SAP user, preferred

  • Ability to travel as required, up to 20% of the time if needed
