Position Overview

The Supplier Quality Engineer has the overall leadership of the Supplier Quality Management of the Duncan Manufacturing site covering supplier selection and qualification, supplier evaluation and monitoring but also supplier improvement programs. As such this guarantees that our products are delivered with high quality and outstanding reliability. This person acts as a partner with suppliers, customers and members of all departments and will also coordinate Supplier Quality activities for “shared” suppliers with other manufacturing sites.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interface closely with PALL Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Site Quality and Applications teams to establish subcontractor/supplier quality requirements

  • Review and approve purchasing specifications and ensure internal/subcontractor documentation (control plans) meet the latest requirements

  • Establish and maintain Supplier Agreements for critical suppliers

  • Maintain the Approved Supplier List for the Duncan site

  • Conduct Supplier Audits as per agreed audit schedule, including follow-up and closure in the SmartAudit system

  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and R&D teams to ensure early engagement in identifying and qualifying new subcontractors/suppliers, or new products with existing subcontractors/suppliers

  • Continuously monitor key performance indicators as input for Supplier Monitoring Program and Supplier Business Review

  • Conduct Supplier review meetings with critical suppliers to review supplier performance and initiate supplier improvement plans

  • Monitor Supplier CAPA’s to completion to drive supplier improvement, using appropriate DBS tools (Kaizen, PSP)

  • Manage the effectiveness of subcontractor/supplier root cause analysis and resolution using appropriate metrics and feedback (SCAR)

  • Support customer complaints related to subcontractors and/or suppliers

  • Manage and coordinate completion of Field Action Risk Assessment (FARA) of supplier induced issues

  • Manage supplier induced changes and follow-up for completion and successful implementation of the change.

  • Responsible to report and support Pall Duncan supplier PPM metric and associated plans to improve this metric

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a scientific field, preferably in Lifesciences (Bio, Biomedical, Chemical, Pharm) with 3 - 5 years relevant experience

  • Strong working knowledge of quality principles and practices, industry and international regulations and standards

  • Familiarity with ISO9001

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to influence in a global, cross-cultural organization

  • A mindset toward continuous improvement

  • Proven track record of overcoming obstacles and working under deadlines

  • Coach behaviors and actions that align to the DBS culture and holds teams/individuals accountable

  • You are knowledgeable in MS Office and statistical programs

  • Ability to travel 15-40%, domestic and international
