Position Overview

As VSL of Internal Logistics, you will be part of the operations team, leading a 15 to 30 person team within the Internal Logistics Value Stream. You are a critical piece in developing a team culture focused on engagement, employee development, and operational execution. This role will be responsible for achieving the goals set for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (including Inventory and Productivity).

Job Responsibilities

  • Completing time & attendance regularly – ensuring time off allows for delivery schedule to be met

  • Onboarding of new associates – including training when required

  • Scheduling work assignments to ensure delivery schedule can be met

  • Delivering yearly performance evaluations (including performance and development goals)

  • Provide leadership and support to hourly team ensure manufacturing performance objectives are achieved

  • Own daily management of operational metrics at the cell level

  • Prioritize safety daily – ensuring associates can stay safe while performing daily functions

  • Align with and supervise 5S and standard methodologies in the workplace

  • Ensure quality is evident in daily work – delivering high quality product that meets all customer and quality specifications

  • Ensure the team works according to regulatory guidelines, ensuring delivery on ISO and other regulatory requirements

  • Working according to the First-In First-Out (FIFO) principle to ensure inventory turnover

  • Supervise and follow detailed Work-In Process (WIP) levels

  • Supervise cell operations to ensure all inventory is accounted for and following accurate processes

  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and find root cause/countermeasure. Ensure cycle count process is on schedule

  • Support Kanban Implementation and Auditing throughout the facility

  • Spot waste in the process and advance it to the Director of Supply Chain

  • Deliver output as determined by the daily schedule

  • Participate in problem solving to minimize downtime and improve efficiency

  • Drive solutions for picking efficiencies throughout the Raw Material and Kanban areas

  • Identifying waste and assisting in developing Kaizen charters. Participating in and leading kaizen events

  • Supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives, champion projects which increase the overall efficiency of the manufacturing operation

  • Coordinate training schedules and support advancements

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in manufacturing

  • Basic math, reading and writing skills

  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word specifically)

  • Experience in a warehouse environment

  • Prior supervisory experience

  • SAP experience, preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Required Lifting Weight: 30 lbs. Lifting Frequency: Daily

  • Bend, lift, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
