Position Overview

The Warehouse Team Leader will be part of the Logistics Team, leading the daily logistics activities of up to a 10-person team. This role is responsible for assigning work to team members, dealing with production or logistics issues, and training new hires and associates on procedures and best practices. The Team Lead is critical in developing a team culture focused on engagement, continuous improvement, and operational execution. This role will also be responsible for achieving the goals set for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (including Inventory and Productivity) and continuing to raise the bar and set the standard for world-class manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assigning daily work/tasks to associates in your area of responsibility

  • Ensuring associates fill out all required documentation (scorecards, paperwork, etc.). Onboarding/training new associates

  • Consistent voice of quality for the area – including proper handling of goods, and coaching of others

  • Operates equipment and assists in material transactions – willing and able to learn all processes to ensure materials are handled safely and with quality in mind.

  • Supports daily operations in the Warehouse for the critical daily management metrics

  • Prioritize safety daily – ensuring associates can stay safe while performing daily functions

  • Identify and investigate any unsafe situations – with focus on implementing robust countermeasures to reduce or eliminate the issues

  • Lead and monitor 5S in the workplace. Ensure quality is evident in daily work – delivering high quality product that meets all customer and quality specifications

  • Ensure the team works according to regulatory guidelines, mentoring as needed, to ensure we deliver on ISO and other regulatory requirements

  • Compliance with the daily schedule; bring up any deviations to the Shift Leader

  • Work according to the First-In First-Out (FIFO) principle

  • Monitor and align with documented Work-In Process (WIP) levels

  • Execute transactions as required and follow standard inventory control processes

  • Contributes to the continuous improvement (DBS) culture, including:

  • Identifying waste in process; Participating in and leading kaizen events; Assisting Shift Leaders in the Problem-Solving Process (PSP) to understand gaps in cell performance, investigate causes to understand root cause, and drive improvements; Supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and projects which increase the overall efficiency of the manufacturing operation

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)

  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in warehousing or logistics

  • Basic math, reading and writing skills

  • Proficient computer skills to access production information

  • Must have experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word specifically)

  • SAP or other ERP experience (specifically in a warehousing environment), preferred

  • Experience training associates in safe and effective warehousing picking

Physical Requirements

  • Required Lifting Weight: up to 35 lbs. Lifting Frequency: Daily

  • Bend, lift, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to work in a warehouse and a cleanroom at times (75%/25% of the time)
